Food Safety



Crazy Fresh Produce is processed in a facility that has adopted a scientific approach to food safety. Our managers are all HACCP trained. We have a HACCP training program that is accredited by the International HACCP Alliance.


All Russ Davis Wholesale locations are 3rd party audited. Our fresh cut facility that produces all of our Crazy Fresh brand products is an SQF Level 2 Certified facility. SQF is a GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) recognized food safety standard and the highest American food safety standard. SQF is one of a few certification standards to adopt an unannounced audit program.


Our Crazy Fresh facility submits samples for testing to accredited laboratories. We test incoming goods for E. coli, Listeria and Salmonella. We conduct ATP swab testing daily in our fresh cut facility as part of our pre-operational inspection to check the effectiveness of our sanitation procedures. All of our Crazy Fresh products go through metal detection before they are released from the facility.

We also require our suppliers to conduct Maximum Level Residue testing for pesticides.


Our vendors submit food safety documents to us through the SAFE SOURCE database. SAFE SOURCE helps Russ Davis Wholesale monitor its vendors continually throughout the year. We believe responsible sourcing is important to providing the safest and highest quality produce to our customers.


Our Crazy Fresh facility is certified organic and we offer a unique variety of organic products in our Crazy Fresh brand as well as a full line of organic whole goods. We are passionate about our organic program! We take the handling of organic, non-GMO and sustainably grown produce seriously.
