Russ Davis Wholesale was started in 1955, by Russ Davis as a one truck business. Russ would take orders as he was making his deliveries during his route.
Today, we are an employee owned business that still continues Russ’s legacy by selling and distributing fresh fruits and vegetables.
We have grown from a one truck operation to a vertically integrated business with a large fleet and multiple locations. We currently have 5 distribution centers. The warehouse in Wadena, MN is the original distribution center and houses our corporate accounting offices. The warehouse in Jamestown, ND was added in April of 1996 and services much of North and South Dakota. RDW acquired North Country Produce in 2002 and relocated from St. Paul to a larger distribution center in Inver Grove Heights a year later. In 2006 RDW added a fourth distribution center in Merrill, WI to better service partners in Eastern WI and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. RDW acquired La Crosse Produce in 2007 and later built a new distribution facility conveniently located off of I90 near the MN and WI borders. 2010 was an exciting year with the addition of our processing facility in Eagan, Minnesota and the launch of our own custom line of fresh cut fruits and vegetables, Crazy Fresh Produce.
We also have a division in Wood Lake, MN which consist of 2 entities, one being the trucking firm of Black Jack Express and the other being a freight brokering company called Palms to Plains. In 2005 RDW acquired a diesel repair operation in Wadena, MN to service a fleet that has grown to well over 100 tractors, numerous dock trucks, and a large assortment of vans and automobiles.
We’re proud to partner with our retail and foodservice customers to create and deliver fresh produce and specialty products that keep customers coming back for more.
