Russ Davis Wholesale is an employee owned
business with the purpose of selling and distributing fresh fruits and
vegetables to retail stores.
We
have grown from a one truck owner-operator type of business to the business
it is today. We currently have 5 distribution centers. The warehouse in Wadena, MN is the corporate headquarters and is about 60,000 Sq.
feet. The warehouse in Jamestown, ND was added in April of 1996 and is
28,000 Sq. feet. The warehouse in Inver Grove Heights, |

MN was added in 2003
and is 60,000 Sq. feet. This warehouse also encompasses the business
of North Country Produce which was purchased in 2002 and moved there from
its former location on Ellis Avenue in St. Paul. In 2006 RDW added a
60,000 square foot warehouse in Merrill, WI. 2007 RDW aquired LaCrosse
Produce in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.
We
also have a 4th division in Wood Lake, MN which consist of 2 entities, one
being the trucking firm of Black Jack Express and the other being a freight
brokering company called Palms to Plain. In 2005 RDW added Juer's
Repair in Wadena, MN. |

Russ Davis Wholesale was started in 1955, by
Russ Davis as a one truck business. Russ would take orders as he was
making his deliveries during his route. |

- 1968 - Russ and Gary built a warehouse in Wadena,
MN.
- 1969 - Jim Lehr came to work at RDW with his
expertise in office management.
- 1971 - RDW became incorporated.
- 1974 - The first warehouse expansion for more
cooler space.
- 1991 - RDW became an (ESOP) employee owned
company.
- 1995 - Computerized banana ripening
complex was added to improve control and quality.
- 1996 - Company expansion with the addition
of Jamestown, North Dakota branch. The warehouse and office staff
service both North & South Dakota
- 2002 - North Country Produce, a wholesale
company located in St. Paul, was purchased.
- 2003 - The St. Paul distribution center is
relocated to Inver Grove Heights, MN
- 2003 - Black Jack Express, a trucking firm
located in Wood Lake, MN is purchased.
- 2005 - Juer's Repair in Wadena, MN is
purchased.
- 2006 - Company expansion with Merrill,
Wisconsin branch.
- 2007 - RDW purchased LaCrosse Produce
located in LaCrosse Wisconsin.
